If you feel you are putting yourself at risk through drug or alcohol addiction, help is available. How many more individuals, whether famous recording artists or not, are going to lose their lives to counterfeit pills? There are more and more cases of people taking fentanyl or, even more dangerously, having it disguised as something else. Three years ago, music legend Prince died after taking counterfeit pills resembling painkiller Vicodin, which turned out to contain fentanyl. Sadly Miller has become the latest recording artist to lose their life to opioid overdose. Ironically, Miller was credited by Ariana’s brother as the reason he went to drug rehab. He signed a record deal three years later, and in 2011, his first album `Blue Slide Park` went to Number One in the US Billboard 200 chart. Miller, former boyfriend of Ariana Grande, was born in Pittsburgh and made his name in rap and hip hop when he was 15. The suspect has been charged with supplying Miller the drugs, but not with playing an active part in his death. Drugs they claimed were provided by Pettit. There were apparently indications Miller had snorted crushed oxycodone, and the police discovered narcotics in his home.
It transpired the cause of death was an accidental overdose through a dangerous cocktail of alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl.
These contained fentanyl, an incredibly strong opioid, when Miller asked him to supply oxycodone, alongside other drugs. The 26-year-old died on the 7th of September and, almost a year to the day, a man was arrested and charged with supplying him counterfeit opioid pills.Ī DEA affidavit alleged that the suspect, Cameron James Pettit, 23, provided Miller with fake oxycodone pills.
